Many newcomers into the drug testing business need to get set up with laboratory accounts for drug testing along with supplies and Medical Review Officer (MRO) services. National Drug Screening (NDS) offers a turnkey program for this.
NDS works with a national Medical Review Officer service, and also Clinical Reference (Labs), LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics. Lab accounts are available for hair drug testing, oral fluid drug testing and urine drug testing.
Set Up Your Lab and MRO AccountÂ
These are single house accounts where you collect specimens, send them to lab and receive back MRO certified drug test results to you via e-mail. You then forward these results to the party that contracted with you for the drug testing. The lab provides the shipping supplies to get specimens to the lab or a courier service can be set up once you have daily volume. Various drug test panels will be available including for DOT and Non-DOT.
This program is good for a mobile drug testing collection business and/or a brick and mortar facility.
You might ask why I need lab accounts as I am only doing mobile drug test collections. The reason is that you will get customers who need not only the mobile drug test collection but also the lab testing with Medical Review Officer (MRO) result reporting.

Often getting into a drug testing collection business is the first step to becoming a full service Consortium/Third Party Administrator (C/TPA). The C/TPA manages drug and alcohol testing programs on behalf of employers. A variety of drug testing related services are provided by a C/TPA. They are responsible for managing various tasks, including the organization of test schedules, collaboration with laboratories & MRO, overseeing random testing pools, managing consortia, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, such as those set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT) or state-specific drug testing laws. Additionally, they assist in addressing positive test outcomes and other compliance-related challenges.
Build Your Business ResourcesÂ
Other services that might be provided by the C/TPA might be drug free workplace policy development and supervisor training on reasonable suspicion. NDS offers white label service for these products.
